Educated at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC, Ardyth Davis was a graphic designer before beginning her work in fibers in 1970. She won the Award of Excellence for two of her quilts in the 1985 Quilt National and won second prize - crafts in the 1990 Virginia Prizes for the Visual Arts. in 1989 she received a Regional Craft Fellowship from the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation/ National Endowment for the Arts. Her work is in private and public collections, including work owned by corporations such as IBM, Kaiser-Permanente, Levi Strauss, Marriott, and Xerox. She has exhibited in the US and abroad, recently in "Knots and Nets: Spiritual Connections", a USIA- sponsored tour of Africa and is currently included in "Playing with a Full Deck" which opened at the Renwick Gallery in Washington DC before touring the US under the sponsorship of the Smithsonian Institution. Her work is on loan to the US Embassies in Indonesia and Pakistan as part of the Arts in Embassies Program of the Department of State.
